Macaulay Marks A First As National League Winners Are Announced

By Sam Elliott

We have a National League first to announce - never before has someone secured back-to-back monthly awards.

But there’s always a first time for everything as we proudly confirm September’s big winners.

There’s not many players matching Manchester City superstar Erling Haaland’s goals pound-for-pound.

But Macaulay Langstaff is almost as robotic - the Notts County striker has been like a machine in front of goal, too.

August’s winner also now has his hands on September’s award thanks to another emphatic few weeks.

He scored six in four games following his electric first month after switching seamlessly from Gateshead earlier this summer.

Last month he got a hat-trick at Dagenham, one against Aldershot and a double up at York City.

We’re not trying to worry anyone, but he also started October in style with a winner in the huge game with Wrexham!

That match brought rare disappointment for Phil Parkinson, but he takes the top boss gong for September.

His Dragons ended the month top of the table as they really found their form, scoring 15 times while conceding just once.

They thrashed Dorking Wanderers, Dagenham and Torquay United, and got a decent draw at Southend United too.

They are surely going to be right up there this season, even if this month didn’t get off to the start they wanted.

As you know, we can’t get enough of the Vanarama Volunteer of the Month accolade.

Thanks to the National League’s brilliant partners, we can celebrate those who really make a difference - and recognise the people who do it just for the love of their club.

Malcolm Bone is Bromley’s go-to man when it comes to the local area - and as the club’s first ever Community Trust volunteer, he has set the standard for those who follow him.

Working at least three days a week, he focuses his attention on all things from children’s soccer camps to schools and engaging the elderly.

Malcolm gives up his time to help the club achieve its mission of improving the physical and mental wellbeing of the community through sport.

His smile always shows how much he loves the role and Bromley tell us they are eternally grateful for his constant support.

Congratulations to our three wonderful winners!
