So impressed was the Torquay United manager by Shaun MacDonald's reactions that he heaped high praise on the goalkeeper.
The Gulls won 1-0 at Concord Rangers to return to the top of the National League South.
They are now ahead of Woking, who went down to a surprise 1-0 home defeat to Slough Town.
But only goal difference would keep them apart if it wasn't for the keeper's shut out from Sam Ashford's point-blank header.
"Shaun MacDonald has come with the save of the season," beamed the delighted Gulls boss told Devon Live.
"That's what he's paid for, why he's in the team and has never come out of it. I am pleased for him and the whole team. It's in our hands now with seven games to go.
Torquay still have a game in hand, at home to Chelmsford City after the late call off earlier this month.
But they still have to travel to Woking, that game comes in two Saturdays time.
"The Concord result was massive," Johnson said. "There's still a long way to go but we've got ourselves in a good position."
