Maamria Proud Of Nuneaton's Five Star Win

Nuneaton Town boss Dino Maamria says his side gaining a 5-1 win against fellow National League North side North Ferriby United in the FA Trophy is a big step in the right direction.

By half-time Town were 4-0 up and added a late fifth to safely progress to the next round, writes Tom Feaheny.

"I said from day one, winning is a process. You've got to a lot of things in possession of the ball and out of possession," Maamria told the club's website.

"When there is a change in management and ownership you don't know what to expect. I knew their strengths and weaknesses, but all that was out of the water as they had these changes."

"But we had a job to do. My focus was on my players before the game, we had to focus on ourselves and put in a performance for the club and the fans."

This was the first win for Nuneaton Town with Maamria as boss, he will now be hoping to make it back to back victories when they return to league action next week.
