LV BET's National League Mid-Season Review

By Oliver Osborn

With the Vanarama National League season now past the half way mark and the Christmas fixtures fast approaching, official betting partner LV BET have taken a look at how the promotion pictures are shaping up in the three divisions.

Vanarama National League

Barrow AFC are setting the pace in the Vanarama National League at present, with Ian Evatt’s side three points clear at the top of the division.

The Bluebirds have been in superb form, winning 13 of their last 15 National League matches and are favourites to win the title.

Their closest rivals are Yeovil Town and Bromley, with both sides on 44 points after 25 matches and both the same odds for promotion.

Unlike the leaders though, both sides have suffered indifferent form of late and will be searching for greater consistency over the festive period.

It is in fact fifth placed Solihull Moors who are second favourites for promotion.

The Moors, managed by former Premier League winner Tim Flowers, are seven points adrift of the leaders but are well fancied to enjoy a strong second half to the season.

A host of clubs currently in mid table will still have playoff aspirations, with just five points separating FC Halifax Town in seventh and Eastleigh in 13th.

Vanarama National League North

Kings Lynn Town are top of the pile in the National League North after 20 games of the season.

Ian Culverhouse’s side have produced some scintillating football and The Linnets find themselves three points clear of second placed York City and a full 10 points above third placed Chester.

The gap between the top two and the rest is reflected in the latest winner odds, with York City favourites to be champions and Kings Lynn close second.

Third placed Chester are next in the betting ahead of fourth placed Southport and Brackley in fifth.

Vanarama National League South

Wealdstone are making the running in the National League South and have opened up a seven point gap between themselves and Slough Town in second.

Dean Brennan’s side are odds on to win the league, with LV BET.

Third place Havant and Waterlooville, who have won their last four in a row, have two games in hand on the sides above them and could cut the deficit to just three points should they win those matches.

As such, they are installed as second favourites for the title.

Slough are next best in the betting with Weymouth fourth shortest with the bookmakers.
