Luke Is Loving The High Life After Another Big Wood Win

Luke Garrard says his team were so off the pace in the first hour against Harrogate they weren’t even second best.

But he knows their ability to strike late always means they have the power to turn the situation in their favour.

The 2-1 win means Wood are one of the form sides in the National League right now.

They have now won three in a row and haven’t lost in the league since October.

“We score a lot of goals late on in matches, and I said to them in the 80th minute that this is our time,” he told the club’s video service.

“In the first 60 minutes we weren’t second best, we were fifth best.

“They are the first team who have made us change our shape. We had to after an hour and straight away it put us into the ascendancy.

“I’ve rolled the dice and I have got away with it! But it’s just one game of football and we have a lot of work still to do.

“It’s a big win, it’s a massive win - but because of the games coming up we have to park it and move on to the next few matches.

“We have got Barnet coming to town on Boxing Day and that’s huge for everyone.”
