Lucas Returns Again to Wood

Vanarama National League club Boreham Wood have announced that...

....they have re-signed striker Jamie Lucas on loan for the remainder of the season from Sky Bet League Two side Bristol Rovers.

Lucas is a firm fans` favourite with Wood and is no stranger to Meadow Park, having had two previous stints at the club.

After signing on loan from Bristol Rovers the day before the season began, he scored on his debut in the opening day win against FC Halifax Town.

After suffering a hamstring injury in a 2-0 victory at Tranmere Rovers, his loan was unfortunately cut short.

A month later he arrived for a further four weeks. However, he was required back at his parent club to supplement their squad but he`s back for the remainder of the season.

On his return, Wood boss Luke Garrard said: “Jamie has been on my radar from the moment he went back. He has proved already that he is a handful for defences at this level and he gets goals. He comes into a squad that is growing in confidence and will give me options in the forward areas.”

Chairman Danny Hunter said: “I would like to thank Bristol Rovers and especially their manager Darrell Clarke for their help in getting this deal over the line. We are now starting to see a really well balanced squad put together here that can compete at this level. Jamie adds power, strength and an eye for goal at this level and the manager and player were very keen to get the deal done as early as possible in this transfer window.”
