Little Zac Oliver was the guest of honour at AFC Telford’s second qualifying round tie at home to Bedford Town on Saturday.
The cancer-sufferer and his family are on a fundraising mission to raise to take him to America for crucial therapy.
Despite his childhood leukaemia, Zac was at the New Bucks Head to lead the team out - and he was their lucky mascot as the won 3-1 to progress.
His mother Hannah Oliver-Willets posted: “It was the best day we have had as a family for a very long time.
“We were truly spoilt from the moment we arrived at AFC Telford until the second we left.
“Zac loved every minute of it and the players were so lovely.
“When Daniel Udoh scored he shouted ‘that was for you Zac’ and it’s fair to say the adults loved it just as much as the kids.”
But the family need to raise money. They are asking well wishers to wear red and donate £1 to the campaign on Friday, posting a picture of themselves on social media with the hashtag #wearredforzac.
