Lions Hoping To Roar Thanks To A Big Double Deal

Guiseley have been given a big boost at both ends of the pitch.

Powerful striker Kayode Odejayi, 36, has signed a new contract at Nethermoor.

Now in a further boost to joint managers Marcus Bignot and Russ O’Neill, they have a new defender.

Zimbabwean international Cliff Moyo has come on board from FC Halifax Town.

The 25 year-old was part of the Shaymen squad who won promotion from the National League North in 2017.

A push for an instant National League return is hoped for under the Lions’ new management team next term.

The club were relegated from the National League in April having survived on the final day the year before.

Bignot is excited about what next season holds for Guiseley but knows how demanding the division will be.

“There is an opportunity to have a chance here but there is a lot of hard work to be done,” he said.

“The Guiseley fans are going to get a management team and a group of players who real care.”
