Limbrick: Woking’s Halifax Defeat Is All Down To Me

By Sam Elliott

Woking manager Anthony Limbrick held his hands up after the Cards crashed at home to FC Halifax Town.

It’s been a stop-start first season in charge for the Australian and Saturday saw the type of performance that showed the frustrating side to their campaign.

A 3-1 defeat drew groans and although the campaign hasn’t seen a struggle against the drop like last season, it perhaps promised more that its so far delivered.

Limbrick told the club’s supporters he was at fault for the defeat to the Shaymen. It was loss number 18, one he demanded his players put right.

He said: “I take full responsibility for what happened.

“The last thing you need to do is lose games at home against clubs who are in and around you in the table. We know that.

“It wasn’t good enough and we didn’t play anywhere near well enough and we now have to put it right.

“Credit to Halifax but we have to be doing better, the fans should have seen more from their team as we had more than enough possession.

“We have got to stick together and we will. There’s a lot of games still to go and we have got to show a proper reaction now.”
