Limbrick: We Gifted Them Goals

By David Richardson

Woking manager Anthony Limbrick rues the soft goals his side presented Guiseley with on Saturday.

The Cards suffered just their second home defeat of the season, going down 3-2 in a thriller - watch match highlights here.

It was Woking third consecutive Vanarama National League loss which leaves them in 8th place after a highly promising start.

Injury problems are beginning to mount up for Limbrick's side and more defending like Saturday won't help their cause.

"I thought to score two goals and concede three at home and in the manner that we conceded them, I felt like we almost gave the opposition the win as opposed to them coming here and really having to work for it," he said.

"You know what you're going to get when you play Guiseley. They're going to be organised, they're going to be direct and put balls in the box.

"I thought we defended them fairly well in the first-half. We won a lot of headers, it was coming in from long throws, from free-kicks and we practiced for that in the week and it was unfortunate to concede that one before half-time.

“We’re going going through a period where things aren’t going our way but I think you earn that luck and when we were eight unbeaten, things were going for us."
