The Cards are one of two National League clubs left standing and should they come away from London Road winners, a third round trip to Aston Villa is the reward.
If the first leg is anything to go by, Anthony Limbrick’s side have nothing to fear.
The better side for most of the game, only a saved Chez Isaac penalty ultimately prevented them from getting through on the day.
Limbrick is quick to stress that the first game at the Laithwaite’s doesn’t represent their best chance gone.
The Australian boss said they same after their home draw with Bury - and Woking went on to win the replay 3-0.
“I think we all look to that night in Manchester and what we did,” said Limbrick. “It was an evening I will always remember, whatever happens to me in football.
“Peterborough are in the same league but are obviously in a stronger position to what Bury were. But we will take the game to them the same way we did in the last round.
“Maybe there is another story to be told. The players have another chance to put themselves in the headlines and the club on the map.”
Peterborough manager Grant McCann says nobody at the League One club is thinking of Villa Park.
“We know who await the winners of this tie, but it is not about that for us, it is about the incentive of winning the game and getting through,” he said.
“The praise that Woking received following the first tie has hurt our boys and we have got a point to prove.
“We need to show that we are a lot better than what we showed in the first game between the two sides. We want to put a performance on.”
