Lift Off For York At Last As Chesterfield Reclaim Top Spot

By Sam Elliott

We have new National League leaders tonight - and new York City manager Neal Ardley has his first win.

The Minstermen have lift off at last, sealing the three points for the first time this season thanks to a 3-0 victory over Southend United.

Thierry Latty-Fairweather opened the scoring before Maz Kouhyar and Zanda Sizaba made it safe, ending the club’s nightmare start to the season.

Chesterfield go top and they left it late again, Armando Dobra’s 81th minute goal finally defeated Ebbsfleet United.

It was a bad day at the office for Barnet as Rochdale offered hints that they plan to stick around in the promotion fight. The leaders went down 4-2 - in form Tyrese Sinclair scored two more, and a brace of goals from Nicke Kabamba wasn’t enough for the Bees.

Solihull Moors are up to second after leaving Kidderminster with all three points, Matty Warburton delivered the killer blow in the live game.

It wasn’t an afternoon to remember for FC Halifax either, Dorking Wanderers left the Shay with a 1-0 win veteran Tony Craig getting the all-important goal.

Ricky Korboa was at the double to add to his fantastic start to the season, Woking left Hartlepool with a 2-0 victory and they leapfrog Pools into fifth.

Bromley win for a fourth game in a row as Oldham Athletic came unstuck again. Josh Passley, Sam Woods and Corey Whitely all scored as Andy Woodman’s team continue their surge.

Boreham Wood grabbed a big win at Maidenhead United to get back on track, the winner arrived through Tyrone Marsh but a late penalty save from Nathan Ashmore was critical for Luke Garrard.

Ed Frances’ goal made Gateshead’s point at Aldershot Town, it ended 1-1 in their second trip to Hampshire inside a week.

Eastleigh put their battering by the Heed to one side, a 2-1 with at AFC Fylde arrived thanks to Jack Taylor and Paul McCallum goals.

Four teams couldn’t be separated - Oxford City vs Dagenham didn’t see a goal, and neither did Wealdstone vs Altrincham.
