Ebbsfleet United and Havant & Waterlooville are throwing down the gauntlet at the top early on - and they get their hands on a prize a piece.
Paul Doswell knows that with Ebbsfleet winning relentlessly, the pressure is on.
But his Hawks have stood up and been counted despite their rivals’ blistering early-season form - and are breathing down the leaders’ necks.
They ended last month two points behind the Fleet after wins over Chelmsford City, Hungerford and Weymouth.
They also got a not-to-be-sniffed-at point at Welling, as well as securing FA Trophy success at AFC Totton with top boss Doswell honoured for his team’s good form.
Not surprisingly, Ebbsfleet aren’t going empty handed.
They only just fell short of winning every single game in the opening first two months.
Chris Solly, 31, has been a key part of their unbeaten start, the captain who also helps out with coaching is making a big impression.
Their defence has been getting stronger and stronger - the club let in just two goals in their five matches, and would have won them all if it hadn’t been for a spirited Oxford City display in the final game of September.
We can’t get enough of the Vanarama Volunteer of the Month award.
Thanks to our fantastic title partners, we can really recognise the people who go to great lengths to help the club they love.
Jon Weaver is Mr Braintree Town - and has been a regular every week for more than 40 years.
The valued volunteer undertakes a number of roles and he knows that like all clubs, publicity is king.
To keep the Iron in people’s eyesight, he makes sure fans are updated as well as ensuring the local press is fully stocked with photos and information.
He makes sure he is at Cressing Road early on every matchday and spends hours getting the ground looking picture perfect by cleaning the main stand. He also runs a popular memorabilia shop and will rarely say no when asked to do anything!
Congratulations to all our very worthy September winners!
