Leadership Up For Grabs In National League South

By Sam Elliott

Top spot in the Vanarama National League South is on offer tonight as two of the division’s top five sides go to battle.

East Thurrock United play host to St Albans City - and the prize available is to hit the top of the league.

Any kind of a win for the Saints will see them leapfrog Truro City but the leadership will only belong to the Rocks again if they win by three clear goals.

East Thurrock’s manager John Coventry knew his team didn’t hit the heights against Truro when they played on Saturday and he’s called for better tonight. Watch Highlights Here.

He said: “It was frustrating on Saturday as they wanted it more than us it seemed - and it’s rare you say that about us.

“Even though they had ten men they deserved the win. Tuesday night sees another big game and we have to get back to playing the way we know we can.”

St Albans City boss Ian Allinson watched his side drop points at the weekend as they could only draw with bottom club Whitehawk.
