Manny Oyeleke scored very late to snatch a point against Bromley in the 1-1 draw at the EBB Stadium last night.
It was the fifth time this season they had scored after 90 minute had elapsed - and the defender says it’s a show of spirit and determination.
It wasn’t the result the Shots wanted as they slipped further behind leaders Macclesfield but this weekend’s trip to fellow challengers Wrexham now takes on added significance.
“We’ve done that a few times now this season and it’s not a surprise we have done it again,” he told us after the game.
“What it shows is that we’re a fit side and shows we’re a good side - we’re determined and we are always on the front foot.
“The second half we were miles better and we deserved the point for sure. I don’t think this is a bad result.”
But a win at Wrexham this weekend is now crucial.
“I don’t think there’s any side who play football the way we do, and if we can carry on like this I think we will be right up there and challenging for top spot,” adds the 23-year-old.
“Everyone wants to be in League Two, we’re showing how much we want it with these late rallys.
“We’ve got all of the current top ten teams to come, so there’s some massive games ahead of us. We will carry on believing.
“Wrexham this weekend is huge now. This keeps us in the race, hopefully we can get three points on Saturday - our away form is very good so we need to carry that on.”
