Lambs Looking To Avoid Fifth Straight Defeat

If Tamworth are to avoid an unwanted fifth defeat in a row, they know workrate is what is required most at York City on Saturday.

The out of form Lambs lost 3-2 against Alfreton last time out, a result their manager Andy Morrell described as “not good enough”.

The 41-year-old demanded his players stop letting in silly goals and that they maintain focus as the team aim to climb back up the Vanarama National League North table.

Things don’t get any easier and a trip to Bootham Crescent is what’s on the agenda this weekend.

Morrell needs a shift from his players as Tamworth look to be back on track against one of the fancied sides.

But they know the fixture list hasn’t been kind for the weekend they really need a result.

“We know it’s going to be difficult and we have got to be in the game, stay in the game and frustrate them and their fans,” Morrell told the club’s website.

“A few teams have gone there and done reasonably well so we have got to go there with that in mind. We have to work really hard to stop them doing what they do.

“But also we can hopefully impart some of what we do, keeping the ball and moving it well but make sure we do it with a purpose still and cause them problems.”
