The Lambs are looking over their shoulder in the National League North following a run of seven games without a win.
They needed a last-minute Tom Shaw goal to avoid defeat against strugglers AFC Telford United at the weekend and visit leaders Salford City next.
Poor defending and an unfortunate own goal gave Telford the advantage on Saturday and Fowler says his side have received their fair share of bad luck but hopes belief will start to build to counteract it.
The caretaker manager told Lambs Media: “It feels like three points when you get a goal at the end so I was pleased with it.
“You can see that there’s a lack of belief. Every misplaced pass is met with cries from the crowd and I get it - it’s part of the game.
“As a player, I’ve been in this situation and it feels like you don’t get the rub of the green and mistakes cost you.
“We’ve just got to get to that point when the belief is up. They’re fighting, they came back from behind twice. We’ve got to take the positives and build on it.”
