Kinnear Satisfied With Point To Keep Dover Top

By David Richardson

Chris Kinnear had no complaints with taking a point at Gateshead to stay top of the Vanarama National League and open up a gap.

The Heed held Dover to a 0-0 stalemate on Saturday, that has moved the Whites one point clear - watch match highlights here.

The surprise leaders are eight unbeaten in the league and on a day where nearly all of the teams in the top half failed to win, Kinnear's side were able to capitalise.

"I think it's a good point," he said. "It's made us one clear at the top and all the top sides struggled a bit so with our consistent run of eight unbeaten we've got to be pleased with that.

"It was probably the worst conditions with the wind. We got on with it and got a point away from home against a team with a new manager, who got a great win during the week. We've got to take that.

"If you're getting two points a game, with the way things are in the league, that's not bad going. We've played a lot of the good sides and have done ok. It's not like we've just played sides that are struggling."
