Truro City’s rally nearly left Welling United shellshocked.
In the end the Wings held out for a 5-3 victory but the manager was angry at his team’s timid defensive display.
Welling face a huge National League South game with Woking on Wednesday night and he knows thinks must be a whole lot better against their promotion rivals.
“It was absolutely shocking, shocking,” the manager said in an interview on WUTV.
“We have put ourselves under pressure by not managing the game and we almost paid the price.
“We made subs but we were 5-1 ahead and if you can’t use your squad in that situation then you’re in trouble in my opinion.
“We were cruising but we nearly threw it away. It was absolutely ridiculous.”
He added: “We have a massive game on Wednesday and if we can’t do better than that we’ll be in for a long night.”
