All five players had key roles in City's 2016/17 campaign with Forde, Henderson and Poku (pictured) taking four of the five awards for the season, and although Hill and Fleet were unable to take home any silverware, both earned honourable mentions for strings of solid performances in goal and midfield respectively.
Manager Mark Jones is thrilled to be able to keep hold of the five players: “I'm delighted to add all five players to the squad for next year. They were all very important last season and we're looking forward to trying to improve upon what we achieved. I'm delighted to have got them all over the line and we hope that they can have a successful season for us.”
The City boss has also confirmed that Scott Davies had departed the club, heading off to league rivals Chelmsford City:
Jones added: “Unfortunately we will be losing Scott Davies. We couldn't quite agree a deal and Chelmsford have come in to offer him a very good contract and unfortunately we couldn't match it. He was a good player for us last season and we wish him all the best at Chelmsford and hope he does well there.”
Jones also confirmed that the club are still in talks with Freddie Grant and Guri Demuria, but that Tom Winters, Shaun MacAuley, Mike Fondop, Jefferson Louis, Akin Abiola-Daramola, Jean Niate and Wilson Carvalho have all departed the club.
The club are far from completing their summer transfer dealings, however, with Jones saying: “There will be some more news on players over the next couple of days. We're talking to a couple of key targets: another striker and a couple of attacking midfield players. We're pleased with what we have done so far and hopefully we can get a couple more over the line this week”.
