Kettering Go For Experience As Cox Takes Poppies Hotseat

Kettering Town have named a familiar face as their new manager this afternoon.

Paul Cox is the new man in the dugout to replace Nicky Eaden who was sacked by the Poppies last month.

The 47-year-old needs no introduction having made over 120 appearances for the club as a player.

He also has plenty of experience in Non-League football and has previously managed Eastwood Town, Mansfield Town, Torquay United, Guiseley and Barrow.

Cox will be in the dugout for the first time on November 2 when the Poppies face Bradford (Park Avenue) - interim management duo Steve Kinniburgh and Luke Graham remain in charge until then.

"The club is delighted to announce that Paul Cox has been appointed manager of Kettering Town Football Club," a statement on the club's website reads.

The Board of directors would like to thank all of the applicants for their interest in the managerial vacancy and our fans for your patience during this process.

"The Board would also like to thank interim managers Steve Kinniburgh and Luke Graham for their continuing dedication and professionalism while an appointment has been made. Both will be in charge of the game at Curzon Ashton this coming Saturday."

"Paul will take charge of the team prior to the Bradford Park Avenue game on Saturday 2nd November and we are sure our fans will join us in welcoming Paul to the club and to the Poppies family."
