Keeper Is Quick To Find A New Home

Goalkeeper Jon Worsnop has joined Southport following his release from league rivals York City.

The experienced Bradford-born goalkeeper joins from the Minstermen, having previously been at Chester FC where he made eighty-three appearances.

Starting his career at Bradford City, Jon has also played for Aberystwyth Town, Guiseley, FC United of Manchester, Bradford Park Avenue and Alfreton Town.

Manager Kevin Davies told the club`s official website: “Jon is someone I’ve known personally for a number of years. He’s got a great attitude, he’s a big character. He’s vocal and can organise the defence. He possibly suffered a little bit with the change of management at York but he brings a wealth of experience and we’re really pleased to have him on board.”

Worsnop will go straight into tomorrow’s squad for the match against Blyth Spartans at the Merseyrail Community Stadium.
