Keep The Goals Coming Fylde Boss Tells Haughton

Chris Beech reckons Nick Haughton can have his best scoring season for years and has told him to keep the goals coming.

The AFC Fylde forward got off to a flier on Saturday as his incredible hat-trick was the difference against Solihull Moors.

Long-serving Haughton hit 16 goals under Beech last season, and took his tally to 83 for the club on Saturday.

He has some way to go to surpass the 152 Danny Rowe scored for the Coasters but his manager was clearly thrilled by what he saw.

Haughton says just wants to keep the supply coming and so does the Mill Farm Head Coach.

“We started to attack with more intent in the second half,” Beech said following the victory over last season beaten Promotion Finalists.

“Nick showed what he is all about. The winning goal is good enough to win any game of football.

“He works so hard. He scored 16 goals in 31 games last season for me.

“He has started with three in the first game and you can’t ask for any more than that. Hopefully it is a sign on things to come.”

Haughton himself told Coasters TV: “The main goal for me personally is to chip in as many goals as I can, that’s what I like to do, score goals.

“The gaffer feels that’s what I need to do and kick on. It was a great feeling to score three times.”
