Keates Delighted With Ruthless Wrexham Performance

Wrexham boss Dean Keates says their emphatic win against Torquay United

A 4-0 victory ensured the Red Dragons moved to within seven points of top spot, writes Tom Feaheny.

“Full credit to the lads, I thought they were outstanding today. We did the damage first half," Keates told the club's website.

“Second half it wasn’t great and we weren’t as fluent as we wanted to be. But we counter attacked and I thought the lads were awesome.

“We just needed to win a football match, so if it’d been 1-0 it would’ve been the same. It was nice to score the four goals but it was about getting the three points.”

With no game next week, Keates is looking at adding to his squad ahead of the next set of matches.

“We’ve got a two-week window now. I’d like to think we’ll have somebody in the building in the next seven days.

“We’re looking at other positions. We want to add to the squad. We probably need a few more numbers to just give us a bit of strength. But I want players who are going to force the lads in the team to perform better.”
