Dean Keates believes bringing in proven winner Kevin Roberts is a massive boost for the club, writes Tom Feaheny.
The manager told the club's website, he had been tracking the 27 year old for a number of months, due to the qualities he has.
"I've admired him for a long-time, we went for him in January a couple of times and Halifax wouldn't let it happen, we then went for him again and this time luckily we were able to get him."
"He has been promoted from this division with Cambridge, he went up last season with Halifax, he is a proven winner and has captained at clubs as well, he is a very good addition.
With just two weeks to go until the season gets underway, Keates says their transfer business still not finished.
"We are looking at one or two more, we have had a bid turned down for a centre-forward, but we will see what happens over the next week or two."
