Jones Thrilled As Oxford Complete Cupset

Oxford City boss Mark Jones says his side defeating League Two opposition, is a result he was delighted with.

It was one of the upsets of the first round of the FA Cup as a header by Matt Paterson gave City the 1-0 win and sees them into the next round of the competition, writes Tom Feaheny.

"We wanted to give a good account of ourselves and we did just that we were great, we defended and everyone contributed and we got the goal as well," Jones said to the club's website.

"It is a fair bit of prize money coming our way, the run is a welcome bonus for us, we want to use this for our league form now.

"We didn't want to just defend, we wanted to show the attacking play we have, we were solid and clinical as well

"The lads are a footballing side, we knew it would be physical at times, but we have exceeded expectation and are a game off the third round now."
