Jones: Rest Has Done Oxford City Good

Oxford City boss Mark Jones felt the weekend break from action has helped his players recover ahead of some big games coming up.

Last time out they drew against St Albans City and it was a point gained and another game unbeaten saw Jones satisfied with what he had seen, they didn't play last weekend after being knocked out of the FA Trophy previously, writes Tom Feaheny.

"We have two weeks until the next game, we can get the right training in and get some players back, it's not a bad thing to have a bit of a break from it. This league is unpredictable, you look at teams round the bottom getting points," Jones told the club's website.

"In our recent game we kept going, we were on our last legs, we were zapped of energy, we've had a very busy week, with some tough games, so the break could be a good thing."

When reflecting on their previous draw, Jones said.

"I think it was a fair result, they put us under a lot of pressure, in the balance of play, we were the better side in the first and dominated it, we were in control we didn't have that in the second."
