Johnson Delighted With Salford's Reaction

Salford City joint-manager Anthony Johnson says the heart they showed after a 1-0 win at Chorley shows what the squad is all about.

Salford picked up their first win of the season after defeating Chorley away from home thanks to a Michael Nottingham strike, writes Tom Feaheny.

Speaking to the club's website after that victory, Johnson praised the attitude of his side.

"I'm delighted to come to one of the hardest places in the league and get a win.

"We have shown great heart, these lads want to be here, win games and get promotion.

He added: "The football we have played over the last two games, we have faced two sides who will be in the play-off places no doubt in my opinion."

Johnson says his squad have justified being giving another opportunity.

"The fans will be pleased with what they saw, we have given the lads a second chance after Saturday and it has worked for us."
