The long serving Morecambe boss resigned from the League Two side on Monday morning.
Bentley, the longest-serving manager in English football’s top four divisions, took over at the Shrimps in 2011.
He had been a player at the club since 2002 and leaves after 17 years of service on the pitch and in the dug-out.
Bentley, 43, replaces Dave Challinor at Fylde after he left the Coasters on October 12 with the club struggling for form.
The new man will take over with the club 19th in the National League table, but boosted by Saturday’s 2-0 win at Boreham Wood.
