Jennings Ready For Wrexham To Put The Record Straight

Most players will tell you it’s all about focusing on yourself, while most won’t admit to studying the table.

Wrexham left-back James Jennings doesn’t subscribe to that view.

He isn’t just watching the result of his club’s rivals, the defender is egging their opposition on.

“I’m not going to lie, we were watching the Leyton Orient result on Tuesday night and it would have been nice if Barrow had got a late equaliser,” he said.

“We know what we need to do, we have a gameplan and we just need to keep playing the way we’ve been playing.

“There’s a lot of confidence, the lads have been doing well and there’s a real good feel around the place so long may it continue.

“But first against second live on the TV? These are the games you really want to play in.”

You could forgive the Red Dragons stalwart for having some trepidation ahead of their trip to the English capital.

After all, despite four wins in a row, they have come up short twice against Orient in the two games they have played in the league and the FA Trophy at the Racecourse.

But Jennings thinks it’s time to now set the record straight.

“I think we dominated both games against them this season and we were unlucky to lose them,” he concluded.

“The league one, we were in full control and probably should have taken advantage when we had the chances, while the cup game we made a few changes and it was a good performance.

“We go into this, the third time we play them this season, and we do owe them one,

“But it’s just a normal game and we can’t let anything take over that – we have to stay focussed.”

Jennings of course could come face-to-face down the flank with Jordan Maguire-Drew – who started the season as a Wrexham loanee before becoming a Orient player in January.

“We’re in a healthy position, which we know, and Saturday’s going to be good no doubt.

“There’ll be a good atmosphere, it’s on TV live and no doubt we’ll be taking quite a few fans down there so it’s something we’re quite looking forward to.

“We know what Jordan Maguire-Drew is like, we know his strengths and his weaknesses, you try and nullify his strengths and try and make sure you get one over him!”
