Jansen's Pride As Chorley Character Shines Through

Matt Jansen believes Chorley’s Easter results in the National League North show how strong they are.

The Magpies drew at York City on Saturday before a Bank Holiday Monday victory over Bradford Park Avenue.

The four points have pushed Jansen’s men up to ninth in the table and kept the pressure on the top seven.

That’s all Chorley can do and their boss is confident good things will come if they keep their performance levels up.

“We’ve come off a game against York City (1-1) where we thought we should have got more and had to play two matches in three days,” Jansen told Magpie TV.

“I asked for men and characters and they stood up. They were unbelievable. They were strong men, strong characters. I have full belief that they will push on. They’ve answered people with the performance they gave.

“We were dominant against a good Bradford side. To play on Saturday and then to put in a performance like that two days later shows how strong we are.

“Every game in this League is difficult and there are a lot of teams looking to get into the shake-up. If we can put performances in like we did against York and Bradford, we’ll be fine.”
