The forward, signed on loan from Premier League Cardiff City, scored the winner as the Bulls won a critical game at York City on Tuesday night.
The second half substitute, 19, earned rave reviews from the head coach as Hereford pulled themselves up to 16th in the National League North table.
“He showed a maturity and really took the game by the scruff of the neck,” Richards said on the club’s audio service.
“He’s got a low centre of gravity and isn’t scared to have a go.
“When we brought him in we thought he would be good enough for this level and higher and so far he is showing that.
“Credit to our scouting network for finding him and taking the time to watch him.”
On the York victory, the manager thinks it could prove to be a crucial result.
“We have had to defend our box really well and weather a few storms,” he added.
“We’re really really pleased. York were the better team in the first half but a country mile we came out in the second half like a new side.”
