James Becomes A Loan Bluebird For Remainder Of The Season

By Steve Whitney

Striker Luke James has joined Barrow AFC on loan from SkyBet League Two side Forest Green Rovers until the end of the season.

The 23-year-old attacker joined Forest Green in July on a two-year contract from Peterborough United.

He has featured for Forest Green thirteen times this season, including appearances in League Two, the FA Cup, Carabao Cup and the Checkatrade Trophy.

Once the youngest ever goalscorer for Hartlepool United, James has garnered plenty of Football League experience, despite still being early on in his career at both League One and Two level.

After bursting onto the scene at Hartlepool as a teenager, he made a real impact with the Pools, winning their player of the year award during the 2013/14 campaign and being named League Two player of the month in October 2013.

His form earned him a move to Peterborough, who paid an undisclosed fee for his services at the age of 19.

In the summer of 2015 he moved on loan to Bradford City to gain more playing time and then returned to Hartlepool for a similar spell a short while later.

Last season he again spent time out on loan, signing for Bristol Rovers for their League One campaign, and made thirty appearances in all competitions.

James is available for Barrow`s trip to Guiseley AFC tomorrow.
