Jack Has Grounds For Optimism On Epic Charity Challenge

By Sam Elliott

A group of football fanatics are attempting to visit 164 grounds across the country and raise money for a great cause in the process.

Jack Scadden and his pals are trying to visit them all stadiums the top seven divisions in England during the season - and their mission could be complete next month.

The Taunton Town supporter is leaving the best until last and will head to grounds in the Vanarama National League and the North and South this month and next.

Jack, from Somerset, set off on January 14 with his friends and visited all of the Premier League stadiums in a record-breaking 20 hours.

Next it was the 24 Championship grounds before ticking off many more EFL grounds. So far he has raised almost £1,500 for Children's Hospice South West after smashing his target of £1,000 - but he still hopes to bring in even more.

He will finish the job somewhere close to home next month at Taunton’s Wordsworth Drive which he says will be a really nice moment.

Some local companies have helped the cause and one even loaned him a car and Jack said: “Children's Hospice South West is one that everyone wants to get involved and help with so I decided to raise money for them and the important work they do.

"I want to show where the money is going and anything we raise will be amazing and will make a difference.”
