Now Macclesfield Town managed John Askey has been rewarded with the freedom of the town.
It’s yet another honour to be handed to the Silkmen boss after the club’s achievements in returning to League Two
Askey will become an honorary freeman of Macclesfield in a title bestowed by Macclesfield Town Council.
His receives it as a reward for 30 years of service to the Cheshire club.
Chairman Mark Blower said: “Everybody at the football club is so pleased that John has received this accolade.
“He did an incredible job in leading us back to the EFL last season, but moreover has been a terrific servant to the club, and the town for the last three decades.
“We are all delighted for him.”
