It's Tight At The Top Thanks To Another Eventful Tuesday

By Sam Elliott

What at one point looked to be a horror night unfolding for Wrexham turned out to be a very good one.

Not only did the title chasers recover from going a goal behind to Bromley’s Corey Whitely in the live BT Sport game.

But leaders Notts County dropped points at home to Boreham Wood and saw their advantage reduced to three points.

Wrexham, who have two games in hand, won it after a deflected James’ Jones goal, pictured.

Manager Phil Parkinson told us: “We had to fight, we had to fight hard, and we did.

“We had to dig a result out and good teams win all types of games, and that’s what we’ve done.”

On the title race and a good night for his club, he added: “People keep saying ‘Notts County’ but there are other teams in there too. I’m not ruling others out.”

In the only other National League game on Tuesday night, Dagenham & Redbridge left Aldershot with a 2-0 win.

Talented Josh Walker scored both goals to fire the Daggers into the play-off places.
