It’s Super Six For Fylde As Away Day Goal Woes Disappear

After just one goal in their last four away matches, AFC Fylde took their frustration out of Maidenhead United.

Dave Challinor praised his players for not shutting up shop as they put six past the Magpies at York Road.

Fylde have fired blanks in three of their last four games on the road.

They drew 0-0 with Chesterfield, Halifax and Eastleigh and took a 1-1 draw from their game at Barnet.

They also failed to register at Sutton and Wrexham back in August.

Challinor was thrilled to see his side more than double their away goals tally in just one afternoon in Berkshire.

“It’s all about playing on the front foot and we certainly did that,” said the manager.

“It was a really good performance. We haven’t scored as many away from home as we would have wanted by we were clinical.

“We kept playing, we weren’t happy to just see the game out and after going in front so early we didn’t look back.

“The early goal and their player later being sent off swung things in our favour but it’s not always easy.

“Our second half performance was fantastic and we score four brilliant goals.”
