It’s Gulls Against The Glovers On A Sizzling Evening!

By Sam Elliott

We’re about to see if Yeovil Town have staying power at the top of the National League South.

Mark Cooper’s Glovers have won a stunning 11 games in a row in the league and the FA Cup and feel they can beat anyone right now.

But whatever form you are in, a crunch game with a big rival will always test your resolve - can they leave Torquay United with what would be a huge three points?

Gulls boss Gary Johnson knows Yeovil are title favourites and after Saturday’s much-needed win against Bath City, pictured, he said: “It was a great result and we have got to follow it up on Tuesday.”

Hampton & RB are more than happy to have six wins back-to-back and want to extend their brilliant run when they go to Tonbridge Angels.

There’s more than one south-west shoot-out going on - Weymouth face Bath City and FA Cup revenge is on the menu at the Wessex Stadium.

Will bottom side Havant & Waterlooville win for the first time under Steve King? The struggling Hawks are along the south coast at Worthing, who want their play-off place back this evening.

Farnborough also fancy a top seven finish this year and travel to a Chippenham side full of confidence after Saturday’s 4-2 win against Eastbourne Borough.

The Sports themselves expected more this season and they need to start climbing - they won’t relish a trip to Maidstone United, however. Dartford and Chelmsford City both wanted to be higher at this stage too and they meet tonight hoping results go the winner’s way and they can claw their way into the top seven.

Braintree Town and St Albans City are also sitting just outside the promotion slots and they lock horns in Essex in an important match for both.

Talking of important, two of the bottom four come together but even a win for Dover Athletic or Welling United won’t be enough to move them out of the drop zone just yet.

Slough Town want to follow up their excellent display against Grimsby Town on Sunday with another against Truro City at Arbour Park.
