The Minstermen leave their historic Bootham Crescent home at the end of the coming season.
Their Monks Cross site is progressing well, with steel in place as work begins on the stands.
It won’t just be a football stadium. Some leisure facilities will also include a swimming pool, gym, indoor and outdoor climbing areas and a sports hall are also going to be included.
On the site will be a cinema complex with IMAX screen, plus five restaurants and retail space.
York are excited about the move to their impressive new home but desperately want to be a National League club when they cut the ribbon.
They have helped their cause by signing central defender Joe Tait from Spennymoor.
City manager Martin Gray told the club’s website: "I had Joe for a few years when I was manager of Darlington and gained promotions with him.
“He's someone I really trust as a person and he's gone on to do very well at this level for Spennymoor Town.
"He is a natural leader and very, very vocal," Gray added. "He's a really strong individual and, as a character, he brings an awful lot. We need leaders, winners, personalities and - with the players we have brought in this summer - we have got a lot of that now."
