It's Anybody's League! Davis Says It's Wide Open

Leyton Orient's manager Steve Davis says the fact that no club have powered to a great run of results leaves the Vanarama National League wide open.

It seems we have new leaders every week in what is shaping up to be the most exciting season for a long time.

Sutton United manager Paul Doswell joked last week that his league leader's inability to string back to back wins together means they will lose at Wrexham on Saturday.

Davis agrees with his counterpart from across London - and says because of the lack of consistency elsewhere you can't rule Orient out.

The O's are at home to AFC Fylde later today - another team looking to spark their season with three points.

In an interview with the East London Advertiser, Davis had a message for his players after their fight back against Aldershot last weekend brought to an end a run of three straight defeats.
“I don’t think there is a really outstanding side at the moment because no team has grabbed the league by the scruff of the neck and gone on a good run,” said the manager.

“Everyone seems to be winning a couple of games and then losing a few, so that seems to be the way it is.

“I think the team which can get some consistency and form is going to go to the top and then it is about staying there.

“At the moment, nobody seems able to stay in first place, but at some stage you would like to think the league will sort itself out because it is very congested."
