It's Another Huge North and South Weekend Ahead

By Sam Elliott

Who’s got enough left in the tank after Tuesday night? The National League North and South action comes thick and fast and there’s another massive full programme on Saturday.

We’re heading into matchday nine already as September starts with plenty of opportunities to put points on the board.

If you can't get to a game this weekend, National League TV has you covered. All 24 games in the Vanarama National League North and South are being streamed on NLTV.

Match Passes start from £9.50 and can be purchased here.

So let’s go in depth and have a good look at what’s in store this weekend across the divisions.

Scunthorpe United won the battle of six clubs trying to hit the top of the National League North in midweek.

But the nature of the beast this season is that if they want to stay there, they really need to keep winning.

The Iron are at home again, this time facing free scoring Buxton with the danger man undoubtedly Sam Osborne, who scored a one-half hat-trick last weekend.

Tamworth moved smoothly into second after another win and will feel confident of another victory when they host Peterborough Sports, who have lost four of their last five games.

Only Bishop’s Stortford’s form is worse and they sense the opportunity is there against managerless Darlington, who parted ways with Alun Armstrong on Wednesday.

Boston United, pictured, have begun well and this weekend travel to Alfreton Town.

Jim Bentley wants a third win in charge of Southport and takes his new team to King’s Lynn Town while Blyth Spartans fancy continuing their sparkling start against Chester.

Brackley Town, in third, face a long trip to Scarborough as Spennymoor welcome Hereford.

Aveley have left everyone open-mouthed at their start to life in the National League South.

It’s six wins from seven for the shock leaders and they take their unlikely quest to Slough Town, who picked up an impressive and much-needed win at Dartford in midweek.

Worthing will be ready to pounce if the table toppers slip but they take on a Hemel Hempstead side who have shown no fear so far.

There’s a huge game in store as two sides with title hopes meet looking to increase the temperature on those above - Torquay United vs Chelmsford should be a thriller at Plainmoor.

Eastbourne Borough’s season has come to life in recent weeks, they go to a Yeovil Town buoyed by a West Country derby win at Weston-super-Mare, who themselves take on Hampton & RB on Saturday.

Two sides in the early season bottom four clash as Weymouth go to Dover Athletic, who are “really lacking consistency” according to manager Mitch Brundle.

Braintree are good at home and welcome Farnborough, struggling Havant & Waterlooville face Truro City and Bath City are at Welling United.
