It's A Weekend Of Firsts At Gateshead

Ben Clark said there was no finer was to secure his first win as a manager and Gateshead pinched three points late at Dover.

Not only was it victory number one for the new boss but it moved his team back into the play-off places.

Greg Olley struck at the death to make the long and cold trip to Kent well worth it.

It was Gateshead’s first ever win at Dover and Clark says they were good value for it even if they did leave it late.

“I think we’ve deserve it, it was a great way to get my first win as manager,” he said to the club’s audio service.

“It’s been six games, and the longer that goes on the more difficult it becomes.

“We had a good second half and we were the better team. We weren’t going to change things but we did and it worked.

“It’s all about the players. It’s been a difficult week but they don’t know when they’re beat.

“To get that win feels fantastic. The lads have done brilliantly all season and the players believe and we believe in them.”
