Least Goals Scored (Team) – Hereford (1)
It’s been a tough old time for Hereford recently. Without a league win since August 14, their only goal in September came in a 1-1 draw with York City, courtesy of Mike McGrath.
Least Goals Conceded – Salford City (1)
Graham Alexander’s men took a while to get into their stride this season but made September their own. Boreham Wood’s Josh Umerah the only player to breach the Ammies’ stubborn back line.
Most Goals Conceded – Bromley (14)
The Ravens’ suffered a mid-September collapse, losing to Barnet, Aldershot and Salford City before a rotten 5-0 hammering at the hands of Solihull Moors.
Most Goals Scored (Player) – Macauley Bonne and Ed Williams (6)
Joint overall top scorer, Leyton Orient’s Bonne helped his cause with a superb hat-trick against Braintree. Williams has been instrumental for Kidderminster Harriers, scoring his six goals in just five appearances.
Highest Average Attendance – Leyton Orient (5,161)
Orient recorded their highest gate of the season last time out against Sutton United with 5,627 fans going through the turnstiles. A similar crowd of 5,607 also saw their win over Barnet two weeks before.
National League Best Form – Salford City
They’re starting too live up to their pre-season billing as promotion candidates. After a goalless draw to start the month, Salford racked up six wins, closing the month with back-to-back 3-0 wins.
National League Worst Form – Braintree Town
Bradley Quinton’s men seem to have struggled with the step-up this season and their poor form continued through September despite registering their first win of the season – picking up just four points from a possible 21.
National League North Best Form – Spennymoor Town
Jason Ainsley will have the freedom of the town if Spennymoor keep this sort of form up until May. Three wins in a row after starting the month with a draw at Southport and Moors are riding high in fourth.
National League North Worst Form – Hereford
A sole point is all managerless Hereford could get from their four league games in the month. They club have taken a different approach off-the-field but still struggle on it.
National League South Best Form – St Albans City
What a month for the Saints. The only team to breach single figures for goalscoring secured maximum points from September’s fixtures. Two incredible 4-2 victories away from home helped them on their way.
National League South Worst Form – Hungerford Town
One of three teams with no points from September, Hungerford Town sit just above the relegation zone in the National League South having scored just two goals in four games.
