The leaders won 5-1 at Yorkshire rivals Guiseley - the manager’s former club.
It means their lead at the top of the National League North remains at three points after passing a big test with flying colours.
Bower spent three fantastic years at Nethermoor but friendships were put to one side on Boxing Day as his current employers ran riot.
“It was a perfect performance and result from my side,” the manager said after the crushing victory.
“I’ve got to say I am proud of every single one of them.
“This was a really difficult game against a good side but we stood up and we were counted. There are many positives to take.”
Bower added: “We are top of the league after beating a team as good as Guiseley 5-1 away from home.
“I’m delighted with how this season is going.”
