It’s A Frantic Start To February On An Eye Catching Afternoon

It was a typically frantic start to February as the temperature is turned up with three months to go.

Notts County showed their ability to battle after the ten men returned from Torquay United with all three points.

Chesterfield have it all to do after losing at Boreham Wood, Josh Rees’ winner left Paul Cook’s team beat for the second Saturday in a row.

Woking also slipped up, Vincent Harper earned Eastleigh all three points.

Southend United’s players responded again - Jack Bridge’s double beat York City, while Gateshead gave themselves a big lift by beating Solihull Moors 2-0.

St Albans win at home again as Shaun Jeffers scored again, they beat Hampton & RB 2-1.

Tom Smith put the seal on Bath City’s 2-0 victory at Chelmsford as Joe Boachie got both of Braintree Town’s goals as they defeated Chippenham Town.

Ross Stearn also hit a double as Taunton left Eastbourne Borough with a 3-0 win.

Joe Turner was superb again as Tonbridge Angels ended Worthing’s brilliant run.

It was also a good afternoon for Oxford City and for Farnborough as Mason Bloomfield got another to win it late at Concord Rangers.

In the National League North, it was a very good day for AFC Fylde.

Mo Faal got two more goals as the Coasters returned to the top by beating Curzon Ashton 3-1.

They leapfrogged King’s Lynn who lost 1-0 at a Tom Elliott inspired Buxton.

Brackley Town’s incredible unbeaten run is over, they went down 2-0 at Peterborough Sports.

But Darlington do keep up the pressure, winning 3-1 at home to AFC Telford - Jacob Hazel hit a hat-trick.

Chester also lost their fantastic unbeaten run and credit to Spennymoor win left with a 2-1 win. Glen Taylor struck the winner.

Jake Charles’ winner was super for Scarborough as they halted Kidderminster’s surge up the table.

Dom McHale got two more after an incredible start to 2023 as Gloucester City eased to a 5-1 win over Bradford PA.

Elsewhere it was a good day for Alfreton, Blyth Spartans, Kettering Town and Southport who stunned Chorley.
