It Was A Statement Says Bath Boss Jerry

There’s super subs and then there’s super subs. Ross Stearn thee goals may mean he’ll not be on the bench again for a while.

But Bath City manager Jerry Gill says it wasn’t just about one man as the Romans won 3-0 at Hemel Hempstead.

The Twerton Park boss thinks the team will qualify for the play-offs without too many problems if they keep this up.

“I didn’t say anything to Ross before he came on. He’s hungry and wants to play every week,” he told the club’s YouTube channel.

“But he’s got a great attitude. As soon as he came off the bench he showed he was ready and what he’s all about.

“It was a good statement from us at a place where we haven’t won for quite some time. It was a big team performance.”

He thinks Bath improved after a few recent off days.

“I thought we played a lot better football than we have done in the last couple of games,” he said.

“We demanded that from them. We worked on keeping possession and it’s vitally important how we play.

“If we focus on that then when we have a good chance of making these play-offs.”
