It was a soggy and sensational Saturday as it rain goals across the grounds.

The floodgates were opened around the country after a brilliant day of action as everyone battled the demanding conditions.

Barnet moved level on points with leaders Chesterfield in dramatic style as they made the most of their rivals’ postponement - but only just.

Dale Gorman scored a 91st minute winner as the Bees edged past Maidenhead United to continue their brilliant Hive form after more late drama.

Oldham Athletic got off to the perfect start under Micky Mellon with a thrilling 4-3 win at Rochdale in front of a huge crowd.

James Norwood’s goal proved to be decisive as the Latics look to get their promotion charge moving through the gears.

Solihull Moors looked anything but title contenders as Southend United ripped them apart 5-0 thanks to a four goal salvo from Daniel Kanu.

Bromley are fourth after another win - two goals from Olufela Olomola and another from Louis Dennis secured a 3-1 win over Oxford City.

Aaron Jarvis’ two penalty kicks helped Torquay United breeze past Welling United 5-1.

Levi Amantchi kept Maidstone United in the hunt - he scored a late leveller as the Stones drew with Farnborough.

Elsewhere there were wins for Weymouth, Dartford, St Albans and Braintree Town.

In the National League North, the player of the day was without doubt Danny Waldron.

The striker scored all four goals as Rushall Olympic demolished Chorley 5-0.

There was drama at the top as Tamworth left it late to beat Blyth Spartans 1-0. The winner came from Jamie Jellis.

Elliott Whitehouse scored against his old club as Scunthorpe United lost 2-0 at Chester.

South Shields are second - Jordy Mongoy put the seal on their 2-0 victory against King’s Lynn as Scarborough scored another late winner with Harry Green the hero against Buxton.

Dan Turner scored two more as Brackley Town were far too strong for Farsley Celtic, 4-1 it ended. Danny Wright scored as Gloucester City defeated Alfreton Town 3-0.

It was the same scoreline as Warrington Town eased past Bishop’s Stortford. Connor Woods buried two.

Southport came unstuck at Peterborough Sports as Hereford’s Adam Rooney sealed an impressive win over Curzon Ashton.
