The freescoring Iron have been a pleasure to watch going forward but at the back they haven't been as easy on the eye for their fans.
But midfielder Crook, ahead of this weekend's game with Hungerford Town, says Braintree are looking to stop the goals leak.
"We have started very well, especially as it is a whole new group of players who have come together - barring the Enfield boys who arrived knowing each other," he said.
"We have a way of playing and it suits us. We have scored alot of goals but conceded too many and that's something were working on as a team.
"I think the fans are enjoying watching us as we are a young side who are hungry to be sucessful along with a management team with the same mentality."
Braintree have yet to lose at Cressing Road and if that stays the same Crook can't see why the club won't be fighting for an instant return to the Vanarama National League.
"This weekend is another big game, we're at home where we are unbeaten," he added
"So we will want to impose our style of play and be confident that we got goals in us from all over the pitch."
