Iron Ring Changes As Quinton Looks To Stop The Rot

Braintree have added four new signings after boss Bradley Quinton looks to stop their winless run, writes Tom Scott.

Quinton has kept faith with most of his squad that got the Iron's into the National League last season.

But after their 2-0 loss to Maidenhead on Monday - their fifth defeat of the season - Quinton promised changes.

"I'm again disappointed with our performance and I have given last season's promotion players enough chances to play at this level but it's not happening and changes have to be made this coming week," he told the club's website.

"We need lads that are stronger both mentally and physically to be better organised like Maidenhead did - we were knocked off the ball too easily in too many situations."

He kept to his word as the club announced the signings of Cameron James, Justin Amaluzor, Dave Nieskens and Mohammed Sagaf.

James is a defender who has played in the EFL for Rochdale and had a short stint on loan with Chelmsford City last season.

A striker, Amaluzor previously played for Barnet but had a number of spells on loan including with Hemel Hempstead and Bognor Regis last season.

Dutch defender Nieskens was released by Barrow last season after a serious injury. He made only eight appearances in the National League.

Sagaf is a 20-year-old midfielder who previously played for Leatherhead and Walthamstow.

All four could feature on Saturday as Braintree travel to Boreham Wood as Quinton looks to secure a first National League win.
