International Call-Ups For Nuneaton Town Trio

Full-back Wildin, who recently scored the winner in a 2-1 victory at AFC Telford United, has been included in the Antigua & Barbuda squad for their friendlies against Bermuda and Jamaica.

This is the first call-up to the senior side for Wildin, though he has played ten times for the under-21s as a central midfielder, scoring 4 goals.

The former Notts County man told the club`s official Pitchero website: “On a personal level it’s been a great season for me so far, to get so much regular game time at Nuneaton, then being invited to the V9 Academy and now the senior international call-up, it`s been an exciting few months for me. I’m looking forward to performing on an international stage, and then the focus will turn back to getting Nuneaton as high up the table as possible once I’m back.”

Also heading off to the Caribbean is centre forward Mitchell.

Having made his debut for Grenada in a 5-0 defeat at the hands of Panama, who will be facing England in the World Cup later this summer, Mitchell will be hoping to taste victory with the Spice Boys for the first time as they take on Belize.

Finally, on loan Stevenage centre-back, Johnson will represent Northern Ireland under-21s in their UEFA European Qualifying matches at home to Spain and Iceland.

Johnson (pictured) already has nine caps and two goals to his name for the Green & White Army, including one strike against Estonia in a 4-2 victory during this current campaign, in which they sit second in the qualifying group behind Spain.

Manager Dino Maamria was delighted with the news: “It's a great honour for the football club and the model we've created in terms of player development.”

Maamria, who represented Tunisia at under-21 level, continued: “It's an impressive milestone for Nuneaton Town Football Club, to have three internationals for the first time is credit to the chairman and his model and shows how far we've come as a club.

“Whilst it may cause problems for us in the fixtures that they miss, with our small squad, we have good players waiting to come in and show they're ready to perform. It's an opportunity that we can't deny our players and they deserve the chance to prove themselves on the international stage. We're putting Nuneaton back on the map and, as a National League North club, we are proud to have international players in our team and wish them well for the matches and to return injury free”.
